Ed is an accomplished professional bagpipe player with over 30 years of experience. His musical journey began at the age of 11, inspired by the evocative sounds of the bagpipes during a holiday in Aberfeldy, Scotland. Encouraged by his proud Scottish family, Ed’s initiation into the world of bagpiping began with the Pipe Major of the Seaforth Highlander’s (Mansfield ), who generously devoted much of his free time to Ed’s instruction. Eventually Ed would perform with the band where he performed for nearly two years at weddings, carnivals, and remembrance day parades. Seeking new challenges, Ed transitioned to the Ashbourne Pipes and Drums band whom he competed with in grades 3 and 4 for several years. In recent years, Ed has become a prominent member of the Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band, achieving notable success by winning the All England Championships at Chatsworth in both 2016 and 2018.
