Wedding Repertoire
When playing for the arrival of guests or during the drinks reception / photos, Ed generally plays through his repertoire of traditional bagpipe music and is happy to take requests from guests and play them if he knows them.
For the bridal entrance or the signing of the register the following tunes are popular:
- Amazing Grace
- Flower of Scotland
- Highland Cathedral
- Perfect (Ed Sheeran)
- The Rose (Bette Midler)
- Braveheart Theme (For The Love of A Princess)
- Can’t Help Falling In Love (Elvis)
- Caledonia
For leading the bride and groom out of the ceremony, more upbeat tunes are typically played:
- Highland Laddie
- The Black Bear
- Scotland The Brave
- Mairi’s Wedding
- The Glendural Highlanders
- The Athol Highlanders
For leading the bride and groom to the top table, it is traditional to play Scotland the Brave — a well known, lively and uplifting tune that will get everyone clapping along.

Ed performed at our wedding reception on Friday and was incredible. He was very professional and helpful from the minute we booked him and he didn’t disappoint us on the day. He was very patient as we were later than planned and he played as the guests arrived – who all said how fabulous he sounded. Thank you so much for being part of our day!
We just wanted to say thank you to you for your magnificent bagpipe playing that set the mood for our wedding beautifully. Many of the guests commented on how wonderful it was to have the sounds of the bagpipes playing as they arrived and it created the ambience that we were looking for. The bride heard you playing as she was getting ready and it almost moved her to tears (in a good way!).
